Manufacture of bread, fresh pastry goods and cakes

This SCA code includes activities and services for which entrance and/or other conditions for the commencement and pursue of an activity are established. 

Regulations and terms: 

  • Decree on the implementation of certain Regulations (EC) concerning foodstuffs, hygiene of foodstuffs and official control of foodstuffs

Before placing foodstuffs on the market, the facilities in the area of  production, processing and marketing foodstuffs are required to register in the register kept by the Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Food Safety, Veterinary Sector and Plant Protection (UVHVVR).

  • Regulation on subsidiary on-farm activities

A subsidiary on-farm activity may start to be implemented after the finality of the permit for the pursuit of subsidiary on-farm activity and after all conditions determined by the sector regulations for the start of pursuing an individual subsidiary activity are fulfilled.

It applies to the following activities/services:

  • manufacture of bread and pastry;
  • manufacture of pastry and confectionery products;
  • manufacture of bread;
  • traditional way of making bread and potica cakes;
  • traditional way of making pastry and confectionery products;

  • Small Business Act

In the event that the activity is being pursued as a craft, it is necessary to obtain craft business permit, meet the requirements of vocational qualification and be entered in the register of crafts at the Chamber of Craft and Small Business of Slovenia.

Holder of the craft activity must meet the required conditions as regards vocation.

It applies to the following activities/services:

  • manufacture of bread and fresh pastry;
  • production of fresh confectionery products and fine daily pastry with additions: cakes, buns, pancakes, pies, burek pie, potica cakes, etc.
