Representation in the field of models and trademarks

In procedures before the Slovenian Intellectual Property Office (hereinafter referred to as ‘Office’), clients may be represented by model and trademark agents. The activity of representation in the field of models and trademarks includes the registration of trademarks at home and abroad, representation in objection procedures against the registration of trademarks, the provision of advice regarding the maintenance and extension of validity of trademarks, the preparation of legal opinions in disputes regarding trademarks, and the performance of enquiries and verifications regarding reported, published and registered trademarks. The activity also encompasses the arrangement of the transfer of the trademark's rights to a new owner.

The activity of representation in the field of models and trademarks also includes the registration of models at home and abroad, the provision of advice regarding the maintenance and extension of validity of trademarks, the performance of enquiries and verifications regarding published and registered models, and the arrangement of the transfer of the model's rights to a new owner. Model and trademark agents also represent clients in procedures regarding the protection of geographical designations for non-food foods and products.

A model and trademark agent may be:

  • a person with university education who has passed professional examination for model and trademark agents at the Slovenian Intellectual Property Office;
  • a lawyer or a law firm;
  • a legal entity which employs at least one person who meets the conditions referred to in the first item.
