Other recognised livestock breeding organisations
Other recognised organisations carry out individual tasks within the approved breeding programme on the basis of a decision and are entered into the Register of Other Recognised Organisations.
Other recognised organisations may perform individual tasks within the approved breeding programme in the entire territory of the Republic of Slovenia and in the area of one or more administrative units.
In the territory of the Republic of Slovenia, other recognised organisations carry out the following livestock-related tasks:
- measuring production properties;
- managing tests in breeding conditions;
- laboratory testing and measurements;
- managing and maintaining data collections;
- developing and managing a unified IT system in livestock breeding;
- monitoring the performance of animals;
- processing data and interpreting the results;
- forecasting genetic values and publishing the results;
- providing data to organisations (recognised breeding organisations and approved organisations);
- developing tests and methods for implementing the breeding programme;
- issuing the required zoo-technical documents;
- performing tasks in the field of animal reproduction;
- performing other tasks for the needs of the breeding programme.
In the area of one or more administrative units, other recognised organisations perform tasks in cattle farming, sheep and goat farming, and pig farming, encompassing:
- the monitoring of the farming and production of animals;
- offering assistance with the marking of animals;
- participating in the keeping of herd books and registers;
- performing measurements in testing under breeding conditions;
- performing laboratory analyses for the needs of the breeding programme;
- selecting breeding animals;
- verifying the keeping of the required breeding documentation;
- monitoring of the stock and the structure of breed herds;
- planning the reproduction of animals and performing other tasks in this field;
- managing and maintaining data collections;
- providing data to organisations (recognised breeding organisations and approved organisations);
- performing basic data processing;
- monitoring the performance of animals and interpreting the results;
- performing other tasks for the needs of the breeding programme.ma.
