Regular collection of waste from vessels

Ship waste is all waste including municipal waste water and animal by-products or scrap that is not left from cargo but emerge during navigation, and cargo-related waste.

Cargo scraps are the scraps of any cargo on the ship, in the cargo premises or in containers that remain after the final unloading and cleaning, including scraps and spillage at uploading and unloading.

The takeover of ship waste and cargo scraps from ships at:

  •  the port that is not the port of Koper, is implemented by the municipal public utility service for the collection and transport of municipal waste;
  • at freight port of Koper is performed by the state public utility service for vessel waste collection.

Providers of public utility service of collection and transport of municipal waste must ensure that the port capacities for the takeover of ship waste and cargo waste are able to collect all types and quantities of ship waste and cargo scraps from ships.
