Design and trade mark representatives
Design and trade mark representatives represent the parties only in the proceedings relating to the acquisition, maintenance and other requirements in connection with designs, trade marks and geographical indications for non-food products. In proceedings relating to the rights under Industrial Property Act, design and trade mark representatives may also represent parties before courts and other state authorities if they meet the requirements laid down by the regulations governing representation before the courts and other state authorities. The authorising person may authorise one or more design and trade mark representatives for all or some of the acts in proceedings before the Slovenian Intellectual Property Office (hereinafter: the Office).
Prior to the commencement of the representation activity related to designs, trade marks and geographical indications for non-food products, design and trade mark representatives must register in the Register of Design and Trade Mark Representatives kept by the Office. Persons with university degree, who are not attorneys, must pass the design and trade mark representative examination before the Office.
