Carriage inspector

A carriage inspector is an adult who is

professionally trained for performing the tasks of a shunter, who has adequate

education and is fit for the job in terms of physical condition and language


A carriage inspector

performs the following tasks:

  • inspecting railworthiness of railway vehicles,
  • inspecting the conformity of the load on freight carriages,
  • reporting on the formation and braking of the train,
  • conformity of the formation of trains,
  • verifying the compliance of prescribed conditions and monitoring of special shipments,
  • performing brake tests.
