Certificate of approval of types of measuring instruments
Most statutory measuring instruments must receive the approval of the type of a measuring instrument. When approving the type of the measuring instrument, the measuring instrument is inspected and tested in line with legislation.
To approve the type of a measuring instrument, a request must be filed. Following the inspection and the establishment of completeness, the Institute determines the provider, and the place and scope of the test of the type of a measuring instrument. Following the test of the type of the measuring instrument, the Institute reviews the report on the test of the type of a measuring instrument, and decides to approve or reject the type.
If the type of a measuring instrument meets the requirements determined with metrology regulations for individual types of measuring instruments, the Institute issues a certificate of approval of the measuring instrument for a period of ten years.
