Mutual recognition authorisation – simultaneous

Simultaneous mutual recognition of the national authorisation for a biocidal product is an act when an applicant wants to apply for authorisation when no authorisation has been issued yet.

The application should be submitted through the R4BP 3 system of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). The application must contain the list of all Member States where the applicant wants to acquire the national authorisation.

For the issue of the authorisation, the biocidal product must fulfil the conditions with regard to the accessibility of the biocidal product, have appropriate features, be appropriately labelled and have a safety sheet.

After receipt of the application, the competent authority notifies the applicant on the amount, method and deadline for payment of the fee. Fees are determined in item 3 of the Annex to the Decree implementing Regulations (EU) concerning availability in the market and use of biocidal products. The fee amounts EUR 2.500 per individual biocidal product or EUR 3.700 for the family of biocidal products.
